A 42-year-old woman has ended up behind bars for sexually abusing her friend's minor daughter. The accused also filmed the abuse and threatened the 16-year-old into silence.
Police have charged the woman, who runs an NGO in the Indian capital of Delhi, for unnatural sex and threatening the minor. She has also been booked under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, reported The Indian Express.
The accused was produced before the court Saturday, which sent her to 14 days in judicial custody. The details of both the accused and the victim have been withheld.
The complainant, in her police statement, said the brutal abuses began six months ago when the victim's mother took her to the woman's house to enroll her in a six-month course.
“The accused woman then started sexually abusing and assaulted her. She also recorded her obscene video and threatened that she would upload it on social media if she ever left the house. The accused woman also asked her to do house chores," the statement read.
Though the victim's mother came to take her back home, the scared teen refused to go with her. The accused, in a bid to keep the girl with her, had also threatened to kill the mother.
The woman continued to abuse her until the girl fell ill. She was taken to a doctor, who spoke to the girl about her health. It was then that the victim revealed the abuses. The doctor immediately alerted the police while the girl got in touch with her mother and narrated her ordeal.
Further investigation revealed that the accused had previously been involved in two criminal cases. She was immediately arrested by the police.
A similar case was reported Sunday wherein a 23-year-old woman was arrested for kidnapping and sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy. Police said the boy was reported missing on May 25 from his home in the Indian state of Gujarat. His parents approached the police and an investigation was launched based on their complaint. The police soon found that the woman had abducted the boy under the pretext of solemnizing marriage with him. She also confessed to sexually assaulting the boy.
