Pete Alonso exited Wednesday’s game after taking a pitch off his wrist against the Braves.
The Mets slugger dropped to the ground after Charlie Morton’s 0-1 pitch in the top of the first inning hit him on the left wrist.
Alonso quickly got up and walked to first, though manager Buck Showalter removed him from the game before he could run the bases.

It did not appear Morton was attempting to bean Alonso.
The situation occurred a day after Alonso slugged a home run against Atlanta’s Bryce Elder, and then taunted him from the dugout.
Braves fans appeared to chant “Throw it again” as Alonso headed into the Mets dugout after Atlanta trolled Alonso on Tuesday night after New York blew a lead and lost, 6-4.
