The plan: Legendary play-by-player John Sterling will continue as the radio voice of the Yankees next year, Post Sports+ has learned.

WFAN officials will make a proposal to the 83-year-old Sterling this offseason to work fewer games next season. He would still do a heavy load, but maybe not all 162.

Sterling says: When you call Sterling up, it is always a joy. “What can I do for you, my boy?” he said to me when I gave him a ring. We discussed his future, and I told him that I think FAN will ask him to reduce his game load.
