Star pass rusher Haason Reddick gets trade permission after Eagles season ends in disarray

Haason Reddick appears prepared to fly away from Philadelphia.

Reddick, the All-Pro edge rusher who led the Eagles’ in sacks in each of the past two seasons, has been granted permission by the team to seek a trade, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Sunday.

The 29-year-old linebacker has totaled 27 sacks in two Pro Bowl seasons with the Eagles, including 11 in 2023 with 23 quarterback hits and 13 tackles for loss en route to an appearance in Super Bowl LVII.

His 16 sacks the previous year tied with Myles Garrett for the second-most in the league, as Reddick finished fourth in the voting for NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

The Eagles were crushed 32-9 by the Buccaneers in the wild-card on what became a disappointing follow-up season after a 10-1 start to their Super Bowl appearance last year.

Reddick, who also has played for the Cardinals and the Panthers, has reached double digits in sacks in each of the past four seasons.

Reddick’s cap hit rises from $7 million to $21.4 million in 2024, according to Spotrac
