Susan Boyle reveals she suffered stroke that affected her singing, speech

Susan Boyle returned to the “Britain’s Got Talent” stage June 4, revealing that she suffered a minor stroke that nearly took her voice.

The 62-year-old Scotland native performed “I Dreamed a Dream” with the West End cast of “Les Misérables” 14 years after she shocked the world with the same show tune during her audition in 2009.

“It feels great [to be back],” Boyle said Sunday after the full-circle performance.

“It’s extra special for me, actually. Because last April there, I suffered a minor stroke,” she said.

“I have fought like crazy to get back onstage and I have done it,” she added to the audience’s applause.

The show’s creator and panelist Simon Cowell, 63, also had sweet words for Boyle, telling her: “Susan, we owe you so much.”
