Street Fighter (SF) 6 Downloadable Content Was Not Found Error: How to fix

June 1, 2023, marks the launch of the seventh mainline installment of Capcom’s Street Fighter series. Simply titled Street Fighter 6, the game is available for download on the PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. There is no indication of an Xbox One or Nintendo Switch release yet, though. Capcom is knocking it out of the park lately with their games, and Steet Fighter 6 is looking mighty good too, if the reviews are to be believed. But, as with any newly released game, bugs and errors are bound to come with it. No matter how hard the developers and QA team try. A major error in the game is related to the downloadable content (DLC) not being found.

Fighting games are especially famous for having a large number of DLCs. Most of it is related to new characters and stages. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Dragon Ball FighterZ are some of the best examples of this statement. Right now, Street Fighter 6 has two DLCs: the Street Fighter 6 Year 1 Character Pass and the Street Fighter 6 Year 1 Ultimate Pass. However, players who downloaded the game were met with an error that displayed the message “Downloadable Content Was Not Found”. If you are facing the same issue, continue reading.

You would be happy to know that Capcom is aware of this issue and has already released an update that resolves it. However, if you are still encountering the same problem, here are some possible workarounds.

Verify the game files –

One of the most likely causes of the error is missing files. Thankfully, Steam comes in handy for this problem. All you need to do is open Steam, go to Library and right-click on Street Fighter 6. Select Properties > Local Files > “Verify the integrity of game files..”. Let the process complete, and then launch the game.

Restart Steam –

You can also try restarting Steam itself. Sometimes, the digital storefront can be the cause of the problem, so a quick restart will most likely fix the issue. After the restart, you will notice that a new download has been queued for the game. Once the download is completed, the error will no longer exist.

Redownload the game –

If you are okay with the idea of downloading the game once again, then proceed with this method. Just uninstall the game and redownload it.

Untick/Uncheck DLC and Restart Steam –

A player was able to get around the error by simply unticking the game’s DLCs and then restarting Steam. So, make sure to do the same. After restarting Steam, select the unticked DLCs again, and then Steam will automatically reorganize the files. Now, the error should be fixed.

Update the game –

The developers are going to keep releasing updates and patches over the next few months as they try to optimize and eliminate bugs in the game. As such, you should keep the game updated to its latest version to get rid of such issues.
