Reba McEntire’s NBC Comedy Pilot Adds Tokala Black Elk, Rex Linn & Pablo Castelblanco

EXCLUSIVE: Reba McEntire‘s Untitled NBC Comedy pilot has added three to its expanding cast including Tokala Black Elk (Yellowstone), Rex Linn (Young Sheldon) and Pablo Castelblanco (Alaska Daily).

The pilot follows Bobbie (McEntire) who inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had.

As Deadline exclusively revealed on Monday, Belissa Escobedo will star as Bobbie’s half-sister and Melissa Peterman will play a bartender at the tavern who wishes she was Bobbie’s sister.

Tokala will play Takoda, a waiter at the tavern with serious handyman skills and probably the kindest person you’ve ever met. Linn will play Emmett, a cook at the tavern who is described as a man of few words. Castelblanco will play Steve, the accountant for the tavern who does his work at the bar. He has OCD and doesn’t like change.

Tokala can next be seen starring in Peter Berg’s American Primeval limited series for Netflix opposite Taylor Kitsch. Before that, he appeared in Paramount’s hit limited series 1883 and recurred in the first season of Yellowstone, for Paramount+ opposite Kevin Costner. Additional TV credits include Outer Range for Amazon, Lewis & Clark for HBO and Grey’s Anatomy for ABC, among others. On the feature side, Tokala got his start in Wind River from Taylor Sheridan.

As a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and a direct descendant of the Lakota holy man Black Elk; Tokala grew up on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and speaks in several Native Languages. He is repped by Elevate Entertainment and Meyer Downs, LLP.

Linn can currently be seen in the final season of Young Sheldon. In addition to appearing on all seven seasons of the CBS sitcom, other recent work includes AMC’s Better Call Saul and ABC’s Big Sky. Linn may be most recognizable for starring on CSI: Miami for ten seasons. His TV credits include Paramount TV’s miniseries Waco alongside Michael Shannon and Nicole Kidman’s Apple+ anthology series Roar. His feature works include roles in Django Unchained, Rush Hour, Tin Cup, Cliffhanger and Clear and Present Danger. He is repped by Fourward and Greenberg Glusker.

Castelblanco most recently starred as Gabriel Tovar, a series regular role, in ABC’s Hillary Swank-led drama Alaska Daily. Additional credits include HBO’s Room 104, Netflix’s Dear White People and Scream Queens for Fox. For the big screen, he was the lead of the independent feature Ganymede. He is repped by Stewart Talent, Creative Talent Company and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer, et al.
