Horror and porn collide in A24’s upcoming film “X.”
The trailer for the flick, set to drop in theaters March 18, premiered Thursday and has spooky “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” vibes.
The clip shows a crew of adult film stars who set out to shoot at an old Texas farmhouse in 1979. But their mysterious, elderly hosts won’t stop watching them.
The group encounters weird disturbances and the occult as they attempt to shoot their sex-fueled picture.
Jenna Ortega, Kid Cudi, Brittany Snow, Mia Goth and Martin Henderson round out the ensemble cast.
The movie is directed by horror filmmaker Ti West, who is known for productions such as “The House of the Devil,” “The Innkeepers” and “The Sacrament.”
Kid Cudi plays an adult film star in the horror flick. IGN“I need to be famous,” Goth’s character shrilled in the teaser. “All the best people are.”
“There ain’t nobody else out there like you,” Henderson tells her. “Because you got that X-factor.”
“If daddy catches us, there’s no telling what he’ll do,” Snow laments to Kid Cudi as they get hot and heavy in a bed.
The teaser had fans talking and many expressed their excitement for the scary story. “Love the ’70s horror period piece. Right down to the ’70s cinematography. This has a cross between ‘Boogie Nights’ and ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre,’ count me in,” one user commented below the trailer.
