NBA Rumors: Warriors Dismantling Team? Only Curry Not On The Trading Block

KEY POINTS

  • Only Stephen Curry is not on the trade table for the Warriors
  • Kelly Oubre Jr. is one of the players likely exiting after the current NBA season
  • Steve Kerr is still looking for a new mix to put the Warriors back on winning track

The Golden State Warriors continue to rebuild, and trading away some players soon would not be surprising. Although they have performed better this NBA season, things could change in the offseason. And for now, the only thing certain is that only Stephen Curry is untouchable and won’t be up for trade.

Aside from Curry, the only other player secure is rookie James Wiseman. Although the 7-footer will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury, head coach Steve Kerr sees some potential in Wiseman moving forward. The 20-year-old underwent knee surgery recently to repair a torn right meniscus.

Already without Klay Thompson at the start of the 2020-21 NBA season, the Warriors managed to hold their head above water thus far. They are currently at the 9th spot in the Western Conference standings. Their fate could hinge on how well they play from here. If not, there is the play-in tournament that could be their other card.

Right now, Kerr is clueless on what tweaks the Warriors will have to do in the offseason.

"We just didn't have a sense of how raw he would be because we only had 3 college games of his," Kerr said of Wiseman on 95.7 The Game. "Can we get James up to speed to match the timeline of our 3 core guys? That's a great question and we don't know the answer."
