Mike Williams chows down on New Jersey breakfast sandwich sent by fan after signing with Jets

Perhaps the Jets have @NYJ_Matt to thank for getting Mike Williams to sign on the dotted line.

After @NYJ_Matt had the Jersey delicacy of a Taylor ham, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich sent via DoorDash to the Jets’ practice facility in Florham Park for Williams, the newest Gang Green wide receiver made sure to dig into the tasty treat after agreeing to a one-year deal worth up to $15 million with the organization.

The Jets’ social media team posted a photo and video of Williams eating the sandwich.

The team captioned the photo of him eating the sandwich, “A new team and a fresh sandwich for @darealmike_dub.”

In the video, Williams, with his contract still sitting nearby freshly signed, grabs the brown bag that the sandwich was delivered in and rips it open.

“Ooooh,” Williams said as he prepared to take a bite.

“This good, this good. This what got the deal signed right here,” Williams added after asking where the sandwich was from.

@NYJ_Matt had sent the sandwich over to the Jets facility in order to help the pitch to the former Chargers wide receiver who was visiting the team on Tuesday.

Williams had been a cap casualty in Los Angeles and was originally slated to visit the Panthers and the Steelers.

“Jets need a WR2 badly,” @NYJ_Matt said in a direct message to The Post earlier in the day. “I have not done this before. If my gesture could increase the odds of him signing by 0.1%, I’m doing it every time.”

Williams is coming off a season in which he appeared in just three games due to a torn ACL, but has recorded two 1,000-yard seasons while with the Chargers.

The addition gives quarterback Aaron Rodgers another weapon to throw to and his arrival was welcomed by Garrett Wilson.

“Mike Will ! Up top where the kids can’t reach it,” Wilson posted on X after the news of the deal broke.
