Lisa Wilson responds to backlash over ‘affair’ comment: ‘I’m not for everyone’

Zach Wilson’s mom found herself on the defense after one Instagram user appeared far from thrilled over her recent “affair” comment.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday — the same day Jets GM Joe Douglas said the quarterback was granted permission to seek a trade — Lisa Wilson shared a video with husband Mike at the gym, joking the two were having an affair.

“I’m having an affair with the hot guy from the gym, who also happens to be my husband,” Lisa wrote, adding a winking face emoji.

In a separate post, Lisa shared a screengrab of a DM she received from someone that read: “Affairs are nothing to make light of. For real. They’re not funny. They destroy families and children’s lives.”

Lisa, who has 157,000 followers on Instagram — where she often shares advice for women balancing marriage and family — explained that wasn’t her intention.

“Um…. I don’t think i made fun of it,” she wrote back. “We weren’t good. We were tired and disconnected. So I thought why do people have affairs. So I did all the same things to try to bring a spark back. Flirting, sexy texts. And it worked. I’m trying to promote finding that fire with your person.”

Lisa also wrote a note over the screengrab, stating in part how she’s “just a mom and wife trying to help women live their best life.”

“I’m not for everyone and that’s ok. I’m just a mom and wife trying to help women live their best life. Sharing things that work for me,” she wrote.

The Utah native then shared a photo from her and Mike’s wedding day and further explained her post.

“If you’re new here…. THIS is the hot guy at the gym.. he’s ALSO the father of my 6 children, who I’ve been married to for 27 years next Friday,” Lisa wrote.

This wasn’t the first time Lisa — who rose to fame when the Jets selected Wilson, 24, with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft — has called out critics on social media.

The proud mom previously shut down an Instagram troll who questioned her parenting style.

Lisa has yet to address the latest news surrounding Wilson’s NFL future as of Thursday morning.

On Wednesday, Jets general manager Joe Douglas said Wilson has been granted permission to seek a trade, confirming an earlier report by The Post’s Brian Costello.

It came after the Jets finished the season at 7-10 record and missed the playoffs.

The Jets had initially planned for Wilson to develop and learn from Aaron Rodgers, who the Jets acquired in a trade this past offseason.

That plan was ruined when Rodgers tore his Achilles just four snaps into the Jets’ season opener against the Bills on Sept. 11 and forced Wilson back in as the starter.

Jets owner Woody Johnson blasted Wilson earlier this month after another disappointing season.

“We need a backup quarterback,” Johnson said ahead of the NFL Honors in Las Vegas. “We didn’t have one last year.”

Wilson was shaky throughout his three-year career in New York which included multiple benchings.

He finished the 2023 season by throwing for 2,271 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions through 12 games.
