Kyle Richards promises that screaming while running for her life from a psychotic killer is easier work than filming “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” reunions.
“I can tell that I can be chased by Michael Myers into a swamp where there are legitimately alligators and snakes and feel less tired and drained than when I do a reunion with the ‘Housewives,'” she told The Post with a laugh, referencing the maniacal murderer from her 1978 horror movie classic “Halloween.”
Before becoming a Bravo reality TV queen, Richards, 52, cut her teeth in front of cameras as a child actor, appearing in the family friendly 1974 to 1982 series “Little House on the Prairie” and “Halloween.” She filmed the now-classic fright-fest when she was only 8 and played Lindsey Wallace, one of the kids high schooler Laurie Strode (portrayed by 19-year-old Jamie Lee Curtis, now 62) babysat and protected from the masked Myers.
Richards reprises her role in the eagerly awaited “Halloween Kills” installment — out Friday in theaters and streaming on Peacock — and calls the experience “surreal.”

Getty Images; Ryan Green/© Universal Pictures/Courtesy Everett Collection “I was so excited to get the call that they wanted me to come back to reprise my role,” said Richards, who recently revealed she broke her nose while filming. “And it’s just been a thrill ever since. I’m so excited to be back on the big screen again. I never imagined when I was making this film that it would be such a huge pop culture phenomenon and that 40 years later, I would be reprising my role. So it’s been nothing but exciting.”
Richards revealed that she nabbed a role in this latest installment because, at the premiere of the last “Halloween” flick in 2018, she sidled up to screenwriter Danny McBride (not the comedian) and asked why she wasn’t in the film.
“My mom always taught me the squeaky wheel gets the oil, so I planted that seed and dropped a heavy hint,” she said with a laugh.
“Halloween Kills” leading lady Curtis now has high praise for Richards’ all-grown-up acting chops, as evidenced by a recent tribute shared on Instagram.
“The thrills and chills of watching @kylerichards18 expose the grit and guts of little Lindsay in @halloweenmovie is a true highlight,” the legendary “Scream Queen” said of Richards’ work in the new film. “She is a spectacular actress and beautiful even when covered in mud and blood.”
Their film was postponed for a year because of the COVID-19 pandemic and Richards is happy with the decision.

And if you want to watch it at home on Peacock, I would not be watching it alone.
“I would be inviting a bunch of friends over and maybe having some wine and popcorn and cookie and then turning lights off and all watching it together,” she advised. “I don’t know, something about being scared. You want to have someone there with you, right?”
