Much like the rest of social media, J.J. Watt got a laugh over Sunday’s report that Kliff Kingsbury could potentially replace Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma.
After ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Sooners were targeting Kingsbury, Watt weighed in on the speculation surrounding his head coach.
“Killin’ it on the field and at the negotiating table. I see ya Kliff!” the Cardinals defensive end tweeted Sunday, adding a laughing emoji.
Watt is in his first season with the Cardinals and is out for the remainder of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery in October.

Prior to joining the Cardinals in January 2019 — which also included a brief pitstop at USC — Kingsbury coached at Texas Tech. He was fired in 2018 after going 35-40 in six seasons.

“Dear diary, Should I leave the job (that I’m better at) that DOES NOT require me to call 16-year-olds every day for the job (that I’m worse at) that DOES require me to call 16-year-olds every day?” Staples asked snarkily.
