‘Captain America: Brave New World’ CinemaCon 2024 Footage Description:

The footage shown at CinemaCon shows Sam Wilson (Mackie) meeting Thunderbolt Ross (played by Harrison Ford), who is now the president, at the White House. Ross requests a meeting with Wilson to assist in reuniting the Avengers with the new Captain America taking the lead. While appearing to seek unity, Ross may harbor undisclosed motives. During a gathering where Ross outlines his plan to a crowd with Sam present, a mysterious villain hijacks the speakers and manipulates the minds of secret service agents, resulting in chaos.

Scenes featuring Sam Wilson and Joaquín Torres in action together are also shown. The tension escalates to a confrontation between Sam and Thunderbolt Ross inside the Oval Office, during which Ross remarks, “You’re not Steve Rogers.” After a moment of silence, Sam responds, “You’re right, I’m not.” The footage concludes with Sam donning the new Captain America suit, characterized by a predominantly silver and blue color scheme rather than blue and white.

Anthony Mackie describes ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ as ‘a clear reset’ (Via EW):

Mackie said, “This movie is a clear reset. It really reestablishes the idea of what this universe is and what this universe is going to be.” Mackie added “I think with these movies, you’re getting a clear, new branding of what Marvel is headed towards the same way they did with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

During the CinemaCon, Feige compares ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ to ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’. He said, “It is a relatively grounded action thriller.” Feige added that the film will be a “grounded action thriller.”

The plot details of the film are as follows: In Brave New World, an international conflict over a new metal called Adamantium was discovered on Tiamut, the Celestial of the Eternals, which is now an island. Each country wants a piece of that new metal and claims the island as its own. Harrison Ford’s Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, who is now president, wants to reclaim the island and the Adamantium at all costs, and Sam Wilson’s Captain America gets in his way by trying to stop him by assembling a new group of heroes, including the new Falcon, to oppose him. Captain America will be fighting some other villains who are also trying to get their hands on Adamantium. It is also confirmed that a vibranium war will occur in Captain America: New World Order and Thunderbolts.

In the film, Mackie’s Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, will sport a new stealth suit resembling Steve Rogers’ from Avengers: Age of Ultron.

We reported that the latest Captain America film received a negative response at an internal test screening. Reshoots are now scheduled for up to six months (January to June 2024), during which three major sequences will be either cut or reworked, resulting in the delay of the film’s release to 2025.

The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Nate Moore, and Malcolm Spellman.
