In 1997, Modest Mouse released their seminal album “The Lonesome Crowded West.”

Now, 25 years later, Isaac Brock and the rest of the band are celebrating the beloved record with their ongoing “The Lonesome Crowded West 25 Year Tour.”

Already midway through the run, it appears the indie group has been playing the record in its entirety at each show all the way from opening track “Teeth Like God’s Shoeshine” all the way to the album’s closer “Styrofoam Boots/It’s All On Ice, Alright” according to Setlist.FM.

The only wild card element of the tour is what the group will play as their encore— it changes every night.

Well, there’s actually one unpredictable element.

Ticket prices start as low as $13 before fees on Vivid Seats for some shows while others begin at $209.

Modest Mouse opening act

Although there hasn’t been a formal announcement about Modest Mouse’s opening act on the tour, the group’s Instagram account makes it quite clear, the artist kicking off shows on the run is MATTRESS.

The divisive performer who often wears a sparkly gold sport coat has a smattering of his musical offerings online.

You can check out the Portland native’s Bandcamp here.

Modest Mouse 2021 album

Prior to this run, Modest Mouse toured their 2021 record “The Golden Casket” all over North America.

This collection of songs is their first official album since 2015’s “Strangers to Ourselves.”

Pop Matters reviewed the record favorably saying, “Its 12 songs are remarkably tight and focused for a Modest Mouse album, which again feels reflective of the composed, focused headspace Brock seems to be in.”

“The Golden Casket” can be purchased or streamed here.
