Tristan Thompson’s next NBA chapter may be coming soon.
The Lakers are planning to work out Thompson and fellow free-agent center Tony Bradley this week, The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Jovan Buha reported Monday.
Thompson, who last played for the Bulls during the 2021-22 season, won a championship with Lakers superstar LeBron James in 2016 when both were members of the Cavaliers.
Cleveland topped the Golden State Warriors in Game 7 of the NBA Finals that year, in what would be Thompson’s first and only championship title.
Since his time with the Cavaliers came to an end in 2020, Thompson — a former first-round pick in 2011 — has bounced around the league, playing for the Celtics, Kings and Pacers in recent years.

The Lakers have been plagued with injuries as of late with the playoffs nearing.
Los Angeles is currently 10th in the Western Conference with a record of 35-37, occupying the final spot in the play-in tournament.

The apparent Lakers workout would cap off what’s been a busy few days for Thompson, who recently celebrated his 32nd birthday on March 13.
The 6-foot-9 pro received a birthday shoutout from his ex, Khloé Kardashian, 38, on Instagram last week.
“You are truly the best father, brother & uncle. Your love, attention, silly dances, hugs, carpool rides, bed time rituals, the way u show up for them. All of the above means more than you’ll ever know to your family of littles,” wrote Kardashian, who shares daughter True, 4, and a 7-month-old son with Thompson.
“My birthday wish for u is that u continue to crave change, healing, and transformation. Be strong, be kind, be patient, be free. Continue to Make your soul and your mommy proud. Happy birthday baby daddy.”
Kardashian and Thompson first started dating in 2016.
Their on-and-off relationship had been rocked by cheating scandals involving Thompson over the years, with Page Six reporting in June 2021 they had split again.
