Jets’ Brandin Echols suspended one game for mystery infraction

Jets backup cornerback Brandin Echols was suspended for one game, according to the NFL transaction wire.

It was not specified which rule Echols broke to get the suspension.

Echols, 25, was drafted by the Jets in the sixth round out of Kentucky in the 2021 Draft.

Echols started 14 games as a rookie and had two interceptions, including one off of Tom Brady.

He asked for Brady to autograph the ball after the game.

After the Jets added Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed last season, Echols became mainly a special teams player.

He is the team’s top backup at outside cornerback.
