Indiana Jones has worn out his welcome.
Residents of Hackney, East London, are whipped-up in a frenzy over the filming of the fifth installment of the “Indiana Jones” series, “Indiana Jones and the Empire of Evil” in which Harrison Ford’s legendary adventuring archeologist once again takes on the Nazis.
While the production paid one neighbor $75,000 to film in their home, the entire street has been blocked off for days, causing major headaches.
While the compensated homeowner left town, no one else was paid a cent and they claim they’ve endured four days of “24/7 hell,” according to the Sun.
During the filming, 100 parking spots were cordoned off, 6-foot fences were installed around the set, and stage lights brightened the entire street until midnight.
A ferocious WhatsApp residents’ group has slammed the compensated homeowner “for getting rich quick only to ‘leave everyone else to suffer’,” the Sun writes, adding:
“A single homeowner has made a mint and the rest of us are left facing the disturbance,” said one 45-year-old woman with severe asthma. “It’s a joke… They closed the road so it caused a lot of disruption. Some people were outside arguing over spaces… I could hear angry voices and lots of cars driving around. People should at least be compensated.”
“My friend got home from work and had to park 15 minutes away. She was f—–g fuming with them,” the woman added.
Another local was irate after receiving a $150 parking ticket, noting: “It was late at night and I couldn’t find a spot anywhere. It’s chaos. The staff haven’t been very helpful either.”
