Earlier this week it was revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be jetting to the UK to spend Christmas with the Royal Family for the first time in five years.
But not so fast — one expert says reports of a royal reunion are overblown.
“Sadly, reconciliation is not an option for the Windsors and Harry any time soon,” royal biographer Emily Andrews declared in an interview with Woman Magazine, picked up by The Mirror.
Royal watchers were filled with excitement after a source told The Telegraph last Sunday that Harry and Markle would be “highly unlikely” to turn down the chance to spend the holidays with the Windsors.
That report came after Harry had a “polite and warm” phone call with his dad, King Charles, on Nov. 14 to mark the monarch’s 75th birthday, suggesting that the prince’s frostiness towards his family was finally thawing.Meghan and Harry are pictured on Christmas Day, 2018 — the last time they celebrated the holiday with the Royal Family. But Andrews says Harry is still estranged from his big brother, Prince William, who would not allow him to be present at Christmas.
“The painful rift between [Harry and his estranged brother Prince William] has hardened,” she stated. “The betrayal still fresher than ever, too much for even Christmas to heal.”

Meanwhile, one insider recently told the Daily Mail that Harry and Markle were eager to be welcomed back into the royal fold.
“It seems as if they are really doubling down on their reconciliation strategy,” the source said to the publication after Harry’s phone call with Charles.
“It begs the question, why now?” the insider added. “Could it be that they have realized moaning about how awful being a member of the royal family is, isn’t such a great strategy after all?”
The scuttlebutt added that it was “bizarre” for the Sussexes to think they could just “waltz back in and allow bygones to be bygones if only someone would be good enough to invite them.”Harry and the former actress have rarely been in the United Kingdom since leaving three years prior. In his memoir, Harry penned a multitude of explosive anecdotes about his family, causing their rift to further deepen.
Harry portrayed William as his “arch-nemesis” in the autobiography.
He also alleged that he was left bruised after the Prince of Wales flung him to the floor following a fight they had two months before he and Markle left the royal family.Harry and his estranged brother Prince William have been feuding for years.Getty Images
The Duke of Cambridge reportedly called the former actress “difficult,” “rude” and “abrasive” at the time.
