Gisele Bündchen: Tom Brady’s final game ‘was tough’ to watch

Gisele Bündchen wasn’t cheering on the Cowboys.

The supermodel opened up in detail on the end of her marriage with Tom Brady in a Vanity Fair interview that was released on Wednesday.

The interview took place just days after Brady’s Buccaneers were demolished, 31-14, by the Cowboys in the NFC wild-card game on Jan. 16.

Not only did Bündchen say she was cheering for the Buccaneers, but even did a little finger-pointing at Brady’s teammates for their role in he defeat.

“It was tough, but you know what?” Bündchen told the magazine. “Let’s just be honest. It’s a team sport and you can’t play alone. I think he did great under the circumstances that he had. I mean, he had no offensive line.”

Bündchen, 42, was a staple at Buccaneers and Patriots games throughout the power couple’s 13-year marriage that ended in November 2022.

Although it was unknown at the time of the interview — at least not publicly — the game will likely turn out to Brady’s last as the 44-year-old announced his second retirement two weeks later.

Bündchen, who did not attend any Buccaneers games during the 2022 season, was adamant in the interview that football — specifically, Brady returning for another season after his first retirement — was not the main reason for the couple’s split.

“Listen, I have always cheered for him, and I would continue forever,” Bündchen said. “If there’s one person I want to be the happiest in the world, it’s him, believe me.

“I want him to achieve and to conquer. I want all his dreams to come true. That’s what I want, really, from the bottom of my heart.”

Bündchen called the accusations that she was a “sideline shrew” — in Vanity Fair’s words — that was always against Brady’s football career “very hurtful.”

Bündchen questioning Tampa Bay’s offensive line — one that was dealing with multiple injuries — is a fair assessment of the game, as Brady was under constant pressure from Dallas’ defense.

The supermodel infamously criticized Patriots receivers after the team lost to the Giants in Super Bowl 46 in 2012.

“My husband cannot f–king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time,” Bündchen said in response to taunting Giants fans.

That was a different lifetime for Brady and Bündchen, who continue to deal with the fallout from a very public divorce.

“It’s tough because you imagine your life was going to be a certain way, and you did everything you could, you know?” Bündchen said. “I believed in fairy tales when I was a kid. I think it’s beautiful to believe in that. I mean, I’m so grateful I did.

“You give everything you got to achieve your dream. You give a hundred percent of yourself, and it’s heartbreaking when it doesn’t end up the way you hoped for, and worked for, but you can only do your part.”
