Christina Ricci: I was threatened with a lawsuit after refusing sex scene

Christina Ricci is opening up about some of the not-so-glamorous moments during her long career in Hollywood.

Ricci, 43, talked about her time as a child star and how things have changed for younger actors now during an appearance on “The View” on Wednesday.

Co-host Sara Haines asked the “Yellowjackets” star, “How different is it do you think, for this cast, these younger versions, compared to when you were in that phase?”

“It’s really great. Us older ladies talk about it all the time. It’s amazing to see that they don’t necessarily have to go through the things we had to go through. They’re able to say, ‘I don’t want to do this sex scene,’ ‘I’m not going to be naked,'” said Ricci.

She continued, “They can set boundaries for themselves that we were never allowed to do. Someone threatened to sue me once because I didn’t want to do this sex scene in a certain way. It’s really changed and it’s great to see.”

Ricci had previously mentioned the lawsuit last June in an Actors on Actors conversation with Sydney Sweeney for Variety.

“I remember once on a movie saying I wasn’t comfortable with something and they threatened to sue me if I didn’t do it. That would never happen now,” Ricci said in the conversation.

Sweeney, 25, responded, “What? Oh my God, I’m so sorry.”

“It was fine. I didn’t do it anyway. And they didn’t sue me,” Ricci shared.

Ricci made her film debut when she was just nine years old and first made a name for herself starring as Wednesday Addams in “The Addams Family.” She continued to star in projects as a young actress such as “Casper,” “Now and Then,” and “Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain.”

Currently, Ricci plays the elder version of Misty, one of the survivors of the plane crash in “Yellowjackets,” while Sammi Hanratty plays the teenage role of the character.

Season 2 of “Yellowjackets” premieres March 24 on Showtime.
