The Wild have found their form at the exact right time.

Minnesota is 15-1-4 in its last 20 games and has launched itself out of the wild-card race and into a chase for the Central Division title with the Dallas Stars and the Colorado Avalanche.

The Wild will travel to Denver to take on the Avs on Wednesday night.

While Minnesota deserves a ton of credit for winning 15 of 20 and getting at least a point in 19 of those contests, it is fair to be skeptical of how the Wild got those results.

The Wild are experts at turning games into coin flips with well-structured defensive play, but that style of hockey leaves no margin for error.

Thankfully, Minnesota isn’t making many mistakes, especially in goal.

Marc-Andre Fleury and Filip Gustavsson have combined for a .938 save percentage over their last 20 games, which is both incredible and unsustainable.

At some point, the Wild’s goaltending duo will come back down to earth, and when that happens, it could cause a bit of turbulence for this team because it lacks the scoring punch needed to weather the storm in see-saw battles.

Betting on the NHL?

While not as hot as Minnesota, the Avalanche have also been playing some terrific hockey of late and come into the contest riding a 16-4-1 rip.

Colorado’s potent offense should provide plenty of questions for Minnesota, which in turn should provide bettors a great sell-high opportunity on the Wild on Wednesday night.
