Anne Heche warned Portia de Rossi about Ellen DeGeneres: ‘Red flag!’

It turns out Anne Heche had some choice words for actress Portia de Rossi about dating her ex-girlfriend Ellen DeGeneres.

The Emmy winner and Tony nominee, who died last week following a fiery car crash that left her in a coma for seven days, warned de Rossi of the “red flags” that came with dating the comedian.

Heche issued the warning in a resurfaced clip on her podcast, “Better Together,” just one year before her tragic death aged 53.

“Portia even asked me about Ellen,” Heche told listeners of her ex, whom she had a groundbreaking relationship with in the late ’90s. “Portia even said, ‘I’m gonna go after Ellen,'” Heche recalled in the June 2021 podcast episode.

But Heche warned de Rossi that she wasn’t going to be the star of that romance.

“You won’t be the poster child, girl, because guess what, that poster child has already been taken; and by the way, it wasn’t a great spot,” Heche said she told the “Arrested Development” star.

“But, yours ain’t gonna be any easier. And I’m telling you now, like, red flag, red flag, red flag!”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Heche joked, “I realized that Ellen drove a Porsche — and then she married one. All she used to do was drive Porsches and she collected them and I just thought it was so stupid because they were so loud.”

Heche dated “The Ellen Show” talk show host from 1997 until their romance abruptly crumbled in 2000.

The actress was familiar with de Rossi after they both bagged roles in Fox’s “Ally McBeal.”

What’s more, de Rossi was even a guest at her 2001 wedding to ex-husband Coleman Laffoon.

In October 2021, Heche exclusively told Page Six that her ill-fated relationship with DeGeneres ultimately resulted in her being “canceled.”

“I didn’t do a studio picture for 10 years,” she said. “I was fired from a $10 million picture deal and did not see the light of day in a studio picture.”

DeGeneres and de Rossi this week celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary.
