Woman ends up half-naked on floor after epic ‘Dirty Dancing’ fail

Nobody puts baby on the ground in just her underwear.

A woman’s attempt to re-enact the famous lift scene from the beloved 1987 movie “Dirty Dancing” became an epic failure after her partner not only dropped her but ripped her dress off in the process.

In footage of the moment obtained by The Sun, the film’s theme song “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” plays as the woman begins running toward her partner in what appears to be the courtyard outside of a suburban shopping center. At first, everything goes well: The woman jumps into her squatting partner’s arms, he catches her and lifts her up.

She then becomes overambitious and lifts her legs high into the air. Trying to re-create the scene, she then keeps lifting them so that she turns upside down and totally vertical — then suddenly becomes horizontal again as her partner loses his hold on her and she flips backward. As she falls, her partner grabs at her dress in a failed attempt to right her, in the process ripping it off entirely.

Suddenly half-naked on the ground, wearing nothing but her black bra and underwear, the woman covers her face in embarrassment but appears uninjured.

She’s not alone in trying — and failing — to re-create the iconic moment. Earlier this year, 25-year-old Millie Slennett attempted the iconic Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey move, only to tip over her boyfriend’s shoulders and land on her neck, The Sun reported at the time. Only, Slennett wasn’t left simply embarrassed: She snapped her neck in the process and required a hospital visit and a neck brace.

“It all just went so quickly. When we were at the top, it felt like we were holding it for hours. I had my feet pointed, legs stretched. I thought we’d nailed it,” the Australian dancer told the publication. “I kept trying to lift my legs higher and then they got above my head. It went from fine to not fine within like 0.3 seconds. I didn’t have time to realize I was falling until I hit the floor.”
