‘Wheel of Fortune’ star Vanna White: ‘I’m no sex symbol — I’m a simple country girl’

She’s been one of America’s most glamorous TV presenters for four decades — but Vanna White says she’s still just a modest “country girl” at heart.

The veteran “Wheel of Fortune” co-host, 65, spoke with Yahoo! on Monday, saying she certainly doesn’t feel like the sex symbol she’s come to be revered as.

The blond beauty — who has hosted the game show since 1982 and reportedly earns $10 million a year — insists that she hasn’t forgotten her Southern roots and loves to keep things low-key when she’s off-camera.

“I feel like I’m the same person I’ve always been growing up in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina,” she told the website. “On TV, I’m dressed up, glamorous and so forth. But when I go home, I’m in sweats and jeans and tennis shoes.”

White is known for donning dazzling gowns on her game show, but she revealed she doesn’t really have a passion for fashion in her personal life.

“The designers send their latest clothes every year and I wear them,” the mom of two disclosed. “It’s their style and I’m modeling their clothes. So the pressure really isn’t on me … When I’m off TV, you’re just going to see me in jeans and no makeup.”

“I’m just so simple and comfortable and not glammed out all the time,” she further claimed. “I feel like I’m just that country girl.”

Despite her laid-back approach to beauty and fashion, White makes sure she keeps in tip-top shape for her role on “Wheel.”

“I do the best I can. I eat pretty good. I exercise. I just try to stay healthy and be the best I can at my age,” she said. “That’s all you can do.”

The TV star says she works out on her spin bike five days a week, and does pushups and situps to keep herself looking trim, toned and terrific.

“I’m still wearing these clothes that I’ve been wearing for the past 40 years,” she declared. “I have to do a fitting every couple of weeks, so I need to fit into these sample sizes. That keeps me encouraged.”

As for skin care, White swears by sunblock and makes sure to lather it all over her body.

“The best piece of beauty advice that I can offer is to wear sunblock, and not only on your face and your body, but your hands,” she told Yahoo! “As we get older, you can tell a woman’s age by her hands … Don’t leave them out, because you’re always driving and the sun’s always on them.”

Meanwhile, White’s longtime “Wheel” co-host, Pat Sajak, recently revealed he’s looking to move on from the iconic game show in the near future, with White hinting she could be ready to do the same.

The star — who has two adult children with her ex-husband, George Santo Pietro — enjoys a low-key life in the Southern California sunshine and would have no trouble filling her days after stepping away from the screen.

White told Yahoo! that she loves golf and simple date nights with her partner of 11 years, contractor John Donaldson.

The couple enjoy “going out to dinner, having a bottle of wine or even just a hike or walk.”

“I don’t see us ever being apart,” she declared, looking ahead at a potential retirement. “He is my soul mate and I’m extremely happy.”
