Thursday Night Football preview
Thanksgiving football wraps up in Minnesota when the Vikings host the New England Patriots.
Both teams are coming off opposite results. The Vikings were destroyed by the Cowboys 40-3 on Sunday while the Patriots edged the Jets 10-3 thanks to a late punt return. That win moved New England to 6-4 and Minnesota dropped to 8-2.
Even though the Vikings are two games better than the Patriots, most sportsbooks have them favored by just three points at home. It seems a bit odd at first glance, but Minnesota has a -2 point differential so its record could be a bit inflated.
The Vikings are winning close games and have only won one game by more than one score. They have offensive talent with Justin Jefferson, Dalvin Cook, and T.J. Hockenson, but their offense still stalls at times and their defense is fairly average.
New England, on the other hand, enters this matchup with the second-best defense in the NFL, allowing just 16.9 points per game. All in all, these teams should provide some entertainment as you are digesting your turkey.
