‘The Wild Ones’: Apple Releases First Look Photo From Documentary Adventure Series

Apple has dropped a first look at its new documentary adventure series The Wild Ones that’s set to premiere globally on July 11.

Originally announced under the working title Endangered Planet, the six-part series follows a trio of wildlife experts as they embark on high-stakes expeditions across the globe to track and protect the planet’s endangered species.

Leading the expedition is former Royal Marines Commando Aldo Kane, who is joined by wildlife and camera trap expert Declan Burley and ecological storyteller/wildlife cinematographer Vianet Djenguet.

The team visits six countries — Malaysia, Mongolia, Armenia, Indonesia, Canada, and Gabon — and deploys next-generation camera technology to capture rare and sometimes first-ever footage of elusive species such as the Malayan tiger, Gobi bear, Caucasian leopard, Javan rhino, North Atlantic right whale, and Western lowland gorilla.

The streamer greenlit the doc in July of 2023 as part of its ongoing commitment to natural history series.

The Wild Ones is produced by Offspring Films, the team behind Apple’s Earth at Night in Color and Earthsounds, and executive produced by Alex Williamson and Isla Robertson.
