A week after "The Hills" star Kaitlynn Carter announced her pregnancy, her ex-husband Brody Jenner who appears on the same reality TV show has opened up about his feelings regarding the same.
Jenner, 37, admitted Wednesday during "The Hills: New Beginnings" episode that it was "hurtful" that Carter, 32, didn't consider him in the "top 10" people to first learn about her pregnancy.
The disc jockey noted during the episode that he didn't learn about the news from Carter directly and explained his emotions.
"Of course it's hurtful to see all of these other people that seem to know that she's pregnant and not me," Jenner confessed. "A baby was such a big part of our relationship and talk in our relationship. I don't need to be the first one to know, but I think I should be in the top 10."
Carter, however, explained to her friends that she was trying to find the "right time" to inform Jenner about her pregnancy. "It's just a big thing to share with somebody. It feels like one final nail in the coffin," she added.
Finally, Carter pulled Jenner aside to inform him she is pregnant with her current boyfriend, Kristopher Brock's baby.
"I know you have so many things in common and are just both nice, normal people," she told Jenner. "It's not going to be a big deal at all." Jenner noticed Carter being uncomfortable sharing the news, so he teased, "What's really going on, Kait? Do you have a surprise for me? Just say how it is."
"Based on what everyone's been saying the last few days, I'm sure you've gathered that I'm pregnant," she replied.
Further conversation between the former couple will be shown in the finale of "The Hills: New Beginnings," which is scheduled for next Wednesday on MTV.
Jenner and Carter first met at a party in 2013 and celebrated their first anniversary on Instagram in 2014. The former couple also adopted a puppy named Shoey. They finally got engaged in 2016 before getting married in 2018. However, soon after their divorce in 2019, Carter began to date Brock.
