Steve Cohen’s Mets went on a spree and landed Max Scherzer. What do you think?

The Mets are the talk of the Hot Stove season after they reached a record-setting, three-year, $130 million contract agreement with free-agent ace Max Scherzer. It’s a risky deal for an older pitcher, but owner Steve Cohen certainly can afford it.

The megapact comes after the Mets struck Black Friday deals with Starling Marte, Mark Canha and Eduardo Escobar (though none with Javier Baez), raising questions about the futures of Dominic Smith, Jeff McNeil and J.D. Davis. Meanwhile, across town, the Yankees’ activity has consisted of a small deal for a lefty reliever and some DFAs.

What do you think of the free-agency moves?
