Ryan Reynolds is taking a break from filming after wrapping production on his latest project.

Reynolds, 44, took to Instagram Saturday to announce that he was done filming his upcoming holiday movie for Apple TV Plus, "Spirited." The actor had been working on the production since July.

The "Free Guy" star also revealed in his post that this would be the last movie he's filming for a while.

"That’s a wrap for me on 'Spirited.' Not sure I’d have been ready to say yes to a film this challenging even three years ago," he wrote on Instagram alongside a series of set photos. "Perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making. I’m gonna miss every second working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists. These days, kindness matters as much as talent. I’ve been lucky to work with folks who are flush with both."

Reynolds also shared his excitement about working alongside Will Ferrell and reuniting with Octavia Spencer, whom he previously worked with on 2007's "The Nines."

His wife, Blake Lively, left a cheeky comment on his post. "Michael Caine did it first," she wrote, referencing the rumors that the British actor was retiring from acting. A rep for Caine has since denied the rumors, according to Variety, with sources telling the outlet that the 88-year-old actor is currently reviewing scripts for two potential projects.

Spencer also commented on Reynolds' post, praising her co-star for his performance in their upcoming movie. "You’re an amazing actor/singer and producer. I had a blast working with you, Will, and this outstanding cast and crew! Enjoy your downtime," she wrote.

Reynolds' break is well-deserved. He's already starred in two movies this year with "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" and "Free Guy." Aside from "Spirited," he also has a film with Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot on the way titled "Red Notice," which premieres on Netflix next month. Reynolds produced "Spirited" and "Free Guy."

"Free Guy" was a summer box office hit when it premiered in August. It dominated the domestic box office with an estimated $26 million in its weekend opening.

Days after the comedy action film's release, Reynolds confirmed that there will be a sequel. "Aaaannnnd after 3 years messaging 'Free Guy' as an original IP movie, Disney confirmed today they officially want a sequel. Woo hoo!!" he tweeted, adding the hashtag "irony."

"Red Notice" premieres on Netflix on Nov. 12.
