EXCLUSIVE: CAA has signed director Ridley Scott and Scott Free Productions, the film and television production vehicle formed by brothers Ridley and the late Tony Scott.
A team of reps signed Scott, the four-time Academy Award-nominated director and producer who will next begin production on The Dog Stars for 20th Century Studios based on the novel by Peter Heller. The signing effort was spearheaded by CAA president/co-chairman Richard Lovett, the longtime rep of Tony Scott.
Ridley Scott has shown no signs of slowing, most recently directing Gladiator II, which generated more than $460 million at the global box office. Before that it was The Last Duel (2021), House of Gucci (2021) and Napoleon. Scott most recently directed the pilot for the Apple TV+ series Dope Thief, which is produced by Scott Free and Brian Tyree and Wagner Moura.
Films in Scott’s Hall of Fame resume range from The Martian, Best Picture winner Gladiator, Alien, Blade Runner, and many others.

The self-generator Scott hadn’t had an agent in a long time, but the prolific Scott Free, run by Michael Pruss, is a good piece of business for the agency. Upcoming Scott Free-produced films include the Scott-directed Bee Gees for Paramount Pictures and GK Films; Bomb, an action thriller based on the Kevin McMullin short story; Trap House for Amazon Studios and Signature Entertainment, directed by Michael Dowse and starring Dave Bautista; Echo Valley for Apple, directed by Michael Pearce and starring Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney; The Chronology of Water, Kristen Stewart’s directorial debut starring Imogen Poots; and Clean Break, written by Ryan Brennan.
Scott Free’s TV series include The Good Wife and the spinoff The Good Fight, Prime Target, The Man in the High Castle and The Terror. Upcoming TV projects include include Noah Hawley’s Alien: Earth for FX, starring Sydney Chandler and Timothy Olyphant; Blade Runner 2099 led by Michelle Yeoh; a further installment of the psychological horror anthology, The Terror: Devil in Silver starring Dan Stevens; Pompeii: A Day of Fire, a limited series regarding the eruption of Mount Vesuvius; and Modville, Hyde, and Nick, three original graphic novel series.
