Reds vs. Pirates odds, prediction: Go with Cincinnati

The Five. Who do you like? Five teams are vying for the final wild-card spot in the National League. With the Dodgers and Giants locked into the postseason, the Reds, Padres, Cardinals, Phillies and, yes, the Mets are still playing with a purpose.

Cincinnati is in Pittsburgh, and the Reds should make the most of their visit. Wade Miley (12-5, 2.89 ERA) did an outstanding job for us in his last start. Limited the Cubs to one run over seven strong at Wrigleyville. Miley has lost once (6-1) in his last 15 starts. The Pirates, eliminated sometime in June, give Dillon Peters (0-2, 3.38 ERA) another look. Peters has made four starts and both his losses were earned at home at PNC Park. Play 20 units on the Reds.

Sandy Alcantara! The Marlins blanked the Nats, 3-0. Alcantara took a no-no into the seventh inning then left after eight allowing one hit. Miami scored twice in the ninth to put the game away. Another W. Debt whittled down to -538 joshbecketts.
