Olivia Colman tapped to join mysterious Marvel show ‘Secret Invasion’

From Buckingham Palace to the Marvel Universe.

Oscar-winning British actress Olivia Colman, 47, is in talks to join Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn in “Secret Invasion” on Disney+, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

It hasn’t been announced what role “The Crown” star would play, but Jackson is reprising his role as Nick Fury from the “Avengers” movies while Mendelsohn would play Skrull Talos, who appeared in “Captain Marvel” on the big screen. (Skrulls are a shapeshifting alien race). Kingsley Ben-Adir is in talks to play the villain.

The series would jump off of the post-credits scene in “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” which revealed that the characters who were presented as Nick Fury and Maria Hill are actually Skrull Talos and Soren (Sharon Blyn) and were tasked by the real Fury to spy on Earth while Fury is on a mysterious mission aboard a spaceship.

Colman is best known for winning an Oscar for the eccentric 2018 period piece “The Favorite” and for playing Queen Elizabeth in Netflix’s hit royal drama “The Crown.”
