Why Prince Harry is suffering ‘sleepless nights’ over upcoming UK trip: royal expert

Prince Harry is expected to leave his cushiony abode in Montecito, Calif. and head to his homeland on May 8, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which he founded.

However, the Duke of Sussex, 39, has reportedly been having several “sleepless nights” ahead of the journey, thanks to his famously strained relationship with other members of the royal family — especially with estranged brother Prince William.

His wife, Meghan Markle, may very well be joining him on the trip, possibly adding to his anxieties.

A royal expert has opened up recently about the couple’s fears over perhaps encountering the Firm as they spend time in London commemorating the special event.

Harry launched the Invictus Games in 2014 as a multi-sport Paralympic-styled games for wounded or injured servicemen and veterans.

The anniversary will be celebrated with a church service at the fabled St Paul’s Cathedral.

“Harry and Meghan are having sleepless nights about what they should do when Harry visits the UK later this year.” author Tom Quinn told the Mirror recently.

“He will have to do something to acknowledge the huge difficulties his family is going through, but he won’t want to do or say anything that seems to imply anything less than wholehearted support for his permanently aggrieved wife,” the insider said.

The Windsor clan has been going through a great deal in recent months, as both King Charles and Kate Middleton are suffering from a form of cancer.

The “Suits” actress, 42, and Harry have not been back in England together since the funeral of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022.

Harry briefly visited Charles, 75, amid his health battles in February, but the duke didn’t spend much time in his ancestral land.

However, during a ski outing in Whistler, Canada over Valentine’s Day with the Duchess of Sussex, Harry opened up in an interview with Good Morning America that he planned to head back to Great Britain in the near future.

“I’ve got other trips planned that will take me through the UK, or back to the UK, and so I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can,” Harry said at the time.

“Look, I love my family,” the father of two added. “The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see [Charles] and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”

Middleton, 42, and William, 41, don’t plan on catching up with the Sussexes when land back home.

The Princess of Wales is currently undergoing preventive chemotherapy to combat her cancer.

Sources told the Telegraph late last month that a reunion is not in the works. William “has always done all he can to protect his family” and will do everything in his power to shield Middleton’s privacy throughout her treatment, according to those in the know.
