What Tom Brady has to do ‘if he wants to stay married’ to Gisele Bündchen

Tom Brady is “doing what he can do to smooth things over” with wife Gisele Bündchen amid tension in their 13-year union over his decision to un-retire from the NFL, according to a new report.

The Buccaneers quarterback, who recently kicked off his 23rd year in the league with a win against the Cowboys on Sunday, knows “that this is his last season if he wants to stay married,” a source told People on Wednesday.

“She doesn’t hate that he’s playing football, but she sure hates the way he handled the retirement and coming back,” the insider said of Bündchen, 42, and Brady, 45.

“He knows that, and he’s doing what he can do to smooth things over. He does know that this is his last season if he wants to stay married.”

The source also told the publication that the couple’s marriage isn’t “over by any means.” Meanwhile, CNN reported Thursday that Brady and Bündchen are “living separately” amid the marital woes.

Brady first announced in February that he was stepping away from the game after 22 seasons. A month later, however, he changed course and rejoined the Buccaneers.

“These past two months I have realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now,” Brady posted on Instagram in March, to which Bündchen replied, “Here we go again! Let’s go lovvvey!”

Leading up to the start of the regular season, Brady stepped away from training camp for 11 days in August due to personal reasons. In the days following his return, Page Six exclusively reported that Brady and Bündchen were in the midst of a big fight.

“There’s been trouble in the marriage over his decision to un-retire. Gisele has always been the one with the kids,” a source told Page Six in early September.

“They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind.”

For Brady’s first game of the regular season, though, Bündchen — who shares son Benjamin, 12, and daughter Vivian, 9, with the seven-time Super Bowl champ — tweeted a message of support.

“Let’s go @TomBrady ! Let’s go Bucs!” she wrote Sunday, the same day Brady’s Buccaneers topped the Cowboys, 19-3.

With Brady gearing up for a Week 2 showdown against the Saints in New Orleans, Bündchen is said to be in New York as part of Fashion Week, Page Six reported Tuesday, the same day her Elle cover story dropped.

In the feature, which is part of the publication’s October 2022 issue, Bündchen spoke about her future plans.

“I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [Tom]. I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams. Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing him succeed, and being fulfilled in his career— it makes me happy. At this point in my life, I feel like I’ve done a good job on that,” the supermodel told Elle, later adding, “I have a huge list of things that I have to do, that I want to do.”

When Brady does hang up his cleats for good, the quarterback — who is also a dad to 15-year-old son Jack with ex Bridget Moynahan — will slide into the broadcast booth as Fox Sports’ lead NFL analyst. He agreed to a monster 10-year, $375 million deal with the network, The Post’s Andrew Marchand reported in May.

Reps for Brady and Bündchen did not immediately return The Post’s request for comment.
