The kids have arrived in full force.

After a bit of early uncertainty and uneven play last year, the Mets’ and Yankees’ youngsters have gotten off to blistering starts this season, and appear to be the legitimate burgeoning stars they were expected to develop into.

Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe, 22, is slashing .373/.464/.542 with an incredible 1.006 OPS and 190 OPS+. His .373 batting average ranks third in MLB. He has recorded 1.5 wins above replacement (Baseball Reference) – third-best in the sport among position players.

His quiet 1-for-4 Monday night coincided with a sluggish 3-1 loss for the Yankees (12-5) in Toronto.
