Vanna White shocks ‘American Idol’ audience with future ‘Wheel of Fortune’ host Ryan Seacrest

It was a crossover of the competition shows on Monday evening.

“Wheel of Fortune” letter turner Vanna White stopped by Ryan Seacrest’s “American Idol” set.

Seacrest, 49, will be taking over longtime “Wheel” host Pat Sajak’s role in September alongside White, 67.

The ABC singing show’s emcee was doing his gig like normal until he announced White’s entrance, calling her a “national treasure.”

“I am so enjoying this,” she said. “There are so many talented people here. I cannot believe it! It’s so much fun!”

Seacrest then gushed that he’s happy to take on the reins of the trivia series and is “so excited” to work with White.

Before White stepped onto the “Idol” set, Seacrest gave fans a little taste of her appearance on social media.

“The TV crossover you didn’t know you needed. Look out for the legendary @officialvannawhite on #americanidol tonight and catch a glimpse of wheely exciting things to come!” he teased on Instagram.

Audiences were just as amused on social media.

“Can’t wait for see them both on wheel! ????” someone penned. “When two worlds collide… I CAN’T WAIT, to see Vanna ofc,” a person chimed in. “Love Wheel of fortune, I know it is going to be great, can’t wait for new season ????????.”

One trilled: “You guys already look fabulous together. Can’t wait to watch!”

Ahead of Monday’s episode, Seacrest told People that he can’t wait to emcee with White on “Idol.”

“She said she’d watched the show for so many years and I invited her to come and do an introduction of one of the contestants and she did it and it just made me realize how lucky I am to be able to work with her coming up on ‘Wheel,'” he exclaimed.

Sajak’s last “Wheel” episode will air on June 7. The 77-year-old has hosted the game show since 1981, with White joining him a year later.

He announced he would be retiring from the series last June on X.

In December, Seacrest opened up about his new gig on “Good Morning America.”

“I’m beyond excited. I mean, Pat Sajak is a legend. No one can replace him,” he said at the time. “Vanna White, she’s become a dear friend. I’m so much looking forward to being onstage with her. And I love the show and giving away cash and prizes every single night in America’s living rooms is the greatest job.”
