Tyrese Gibson Confirms ‘Fast 11’ Filming Expected to Begin in Early 2025

The filming for ‘Fast 11‘ is expected to begin in early 2025, says actor Tyrese Gibson. Universal Pictures has already scheduled a release date for the film on April 4th, 2025, but it may be subject to change due to the current situation.

According to Gibson, the SAG-AFTRA strikes have delayed the entire development of ‘Fast 11’. The script is penned by Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel.

Speaking to CBR to promote Gibson’s horror/thriller ‘Bloodline Killer’, he gave an update about the upcoming ‘Fast & Furious 11’.

Gibson said, “Because of the strike, both strikes, there were some real delays in writing and kind of getting the film up on its feet. I’m hearing that we’re going to get it going right in 2025, right at the top of the year.” Gibson added, “I think right now the pressure is to elevate the movie and take the film to some other levels. As you’ve seen, Gal Gadot and The Rock are back, which is exciting.”

As reported earlier, Universal plans to return to basics with ‘Fast & Furious 11.’ The film will have a budget of less than $200 million. It aims for simplicity by reducing global locations and focusing on a single heist or race in the plot.

Gibson said, “I know that fans over the years have been wanting to kind of ground the film and get back to more of the street racing and get away from being in outer space and all the other stuff.” Gibson added, “I think right now they’re in the basement, they’re riding, they’re cooking, they’re really trying to pull it together, to make sure that the fans can show up and really enjoy the film.”

Gibson continued, “That’s what I’m hearing. I’m hearing they’re listening to the fans and feedback and kind of what the fans want, and so I think it’s going to be taking up a few more notches on the street racing stuff.”

Directed by Louis Leterrier from a screenplay by Hodson and Uziel, the film stars Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Gibson as Roman Pearce, Ludacris as Tej Parker, Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto, Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey, Sung Kang as Han Seoul-Oh, Charlize Theron as Cipher, Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs, Jason Momoa as Dante Reyes, Brie Larson as Tess, Daniela Melchior as Isabel Neves, and Gal Gadot as Gisele Yashar.

The ending of ‘Fast X’ includes a major cliffhanger, which will be revealed in the final part. To find out if Dom’s family is alive in ‘Fast X,’ you will have to wait until 2025. Read our review.
