Taylor Swift dominated the mainstream pop culture in the late 2000s and was even a fan of another phenomenon at the time.
Yes, T-Swift was a die-hard Twi-hard like the rest of teenage America that was obsessed with the “Twilight” films.
“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” director Chris Weitz even revealed how the now-32-year-old singer wanted to make a cameo appearance in the 2009 sequel.
However, he shot her down because her star power was just too much.
Telling the podcast “The Twilight Effect With Ashley Greene and Melanie Howe,” the filmmaker discussed how certain celebrities wanted to appear in the film because they were such huge lovers of the vampire romance films.
“The craziest one of all those was to hear that Taylor Swift was a huge Twi-hard, and actually Taylor Swift and I had the same agent at the time,” the “About a Boy” director said.
“[Our agent said] ‘Taylor would like to be in this movie — not because of you, but she’s a Twi-hard. She would be someone at the cafeteria or the diner or whatever, but she just wants to be in this movie,'” he recalled being told.
But Weitz was afraid the “Shake It Off” crooner’s fame would be too distracting in the film.
“The hardest thing for me was to be like, the moment that Taylor Swift walks onto the screen, for about five minutes, nobody is going to be able to process anything,” he noted.
It seems Taylor Swift is a Twi-hard when it comes to the “Twilight” series of films, which feature Kristen Stewart. Andrew Cooper/Summit Entertainment, LLC “I kick myself for it too, because I was like, ‘Wow, I could’ve been hanging out with Taylor Swift,'” he said of the “Bad Blood” singer. “We could have been friends.”
“She must have been like, ‘Who is this jerk?’ But sometimes you make decisions thinking this is for the best of the film,” the “American Pie” producer added.
Swift otherwise has dipped her toes into the world of acting in recent years, having roles in film projects such as “Valentine’s Day,” “The Lorax” and the much-maligned “Cats,” as well as the TV sitcom “New Girl.”
Her next role will be starring in the upcoming ensemble David O. Russell feature “Amsterdam.”

The movie was recently moved up from its original release date of Nov. 4 to its new premiere on Oct. 7.
