Sims 4 February 2021 update for PC, PS4, Xbox One & Mac OS rolled out

The Sims latest installment receives another update. On February 25 EA announced a new update for The Sims 4, which includes bug fixes, character customization fixes and several other updates. Here’s what the update entails:

The Sims games

EA pioneered simulation gaming with the release of SimCity in 1984, and it has been an ongoing legacy of highly customizable, well-rendered open-world games. The current gaming community has had the opportunity to enjoy several simulation games since the genre’s conception. While most of the famous simulation titles are games of the Sims gaming universe itself, we have seen gems like Microsoft Flight Simulator, Eurotruck Simulator and Stardew Valley to name a few.

Officially announced in 2013, EA released The Sims 4 in 2014, after which it quickly topped the charts. Since its beginning, The Sims 4 has received mixed reviews, most negative ones focusing on the game’s lack of updated content, considering it is the latest major installment in the series of simulation games released by EA. The game has received 10 expansion packs, and regularly receives updates. The game is available across platforms, including Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac OS.

Sims 4 allows the user to build their own Sim, with which they can interact with the world around them. The Sims world includes houses, careers, pets, friends, relationships, and much more! The Sims 4 provides the most authentic simulation game experience there is to offer, unparalleled by any other simulation title.

Sims 4 February 2021 update

On 25th February, EA released an update for The Sims 4 on their official web page. The developers mentioned being nostalgic regarding the 21st anniversary of The Sims gaming franchise, which was celebrated on 4th February, and how far the titles have come. The notes also revealed a collaboration with 9 creators to bring new content to the game. This will include 21 new creations scattered around various different gameplay modes.

Console Updates brought in bug fixes which are listed down below.

  • Fixed an issue in the control scheme screen – if you are not familiar with this screen, press L3 (Playstation 4) or LS (Xbox One) it’s awesome… anyway! The issue is that the screen did not display the “Edit Color” option when in Create a Sim. We also fixed an issue in which the options for the L1 (PlayStation 4) and LB (Xbox One) were not showing up on the same screen.

  • When randomizing Skin Tone colors, pressing the X Button (PlayStation 4) or the A Button (Xbox One) will select and apply the correct tone.

  • We have cleansed the Create a Sim of the “Play button” control option that would appear randomly in the dynamic controller layouts.

  • Made some alignments on the Main Menu Home and Packs tab as they were not looking quite right when Simmers switched to Mouse and Keyboard.

Other updates included bug fixes in Seasons, Cats and Dogs, Get to work among others. The details of the same can be found on their official website.
