Ryan Coogler’s New Thriller Starring Michael B. Jordan Starts Filming

Ryan Coogler is teaming up again with Michael B. Jordan for an untitled Warner Bros. supernatural thriller.

Although the plot details for the film remain under wraps, filming for the thriller has started. Cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw shared a photo from the production set on social media, teasing that filming had commenced.

“Get ready,” Arkapaw captioned the post on Instagram.

Jordan has starred in multiple movies with Coogler, including 2013’s Fruitvale Station, 2015’s Creed, and 2018’s Black Panther.

Coogler’s film will be released in theaters on March 7, 2025. The thriller also stars Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, and Wunmi Mosaku.

Coogler is writing and will also produce alongside Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. The film’s executive producers are two-time Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson, Rebecca Cho, and Will Greenfield.

The mystery Coogler period genre film landed at Warner Bros. following a heated bidding war.

Coogler is a two-time Oscar-nominated filmmaker and the recipient of four NAACP Image Awards and four Black Reel Awards. The director has also received nominations for the Golden Globe and Grammy Awards.

Fruitvale Station was Coogler’s directorial debut in 2013, which earned him multiple awards and recognition. The film starred Jordan, Melonie Diaz, Kevin Durand, Chad Michael Murray, Ahna O’Reilly, and Octavia Spencer.

Coogler went on to direct and write Creed, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. His film credits as a producer include Judas and the Black Messiah, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Creed III, and Stephen Curry: Underrated.
