Quentin Tarantino says ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ is his best film

Golden Globe winner Quentin Tarantino has declared “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood” as his best movie to date.

During a recent appearance on “The Howard Stern Show,” the legendary director was put on the spot and asked to name his top project.

“For years people used to ask me stuff like that,” the 59-year-old said, according to NME. “And I would say something like, ‘Oh, they’re all my children.’ I really do think Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is my best movie.”

The film, released in 2019, stars some of the most famous names in Hollywood, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt, who won an Academy Award for his role.

It grossed an impressive $371M at the global box office on its opening first weekend.

The critically-acclaimed movie also racked up 10 Oscar nominations including best director and best picture.

But even his best work couldn’t save the current film era, which Tarantino has deemed to be the “worst in history” as it ties with the 1950s and 1980s.

“Even though the 80s was the time that I probably saw more movies in my life than ever – at least as far as going out to the movies was concerned – I do feel that 80s cinema is, along with the 50s the worst era in Hollywood history,” Tarantino said in a recent episode of his and Roger Avary’s “The Video Archives Podcast.”

“Matched only by now, matched only by the current era,” he noted.

Tarantino added that “the [films] that don’t conform” are “the ones that stand out from the pack” in the current era.
