Prime Video Japan has announced the premiere of ‘Godzilla Minus One‘, set to be available on May 3, 2024.
The film will exclusively debut on their platform in Japan, featuring both the color and black & white versions. It’s unclear whether Prime Video will secure exclusive streaming rights outside of Japan.

It’s the 37th film in the Godzilla franchise, the 33rd from Toho, and the fifth in the Reiwa era. The film stars Ryunosuke Kamiki as Koichi Shikishima, Minami Hamabe as Noriko Oishi, Yuki Yamada as Shiro Mizushima, Munetaka Aoki as Sosaku Tachibana, Hidetaka Yoshioka as Kenji Noda, Sakura Ando as Sumiko Ota, and Kuranosuke Sasaki as Yoji Akitsu.
What is the Plot of ‘Godzilla Minus One’?
Japan barely recovered from the Second World War when a gigantic peril emerged off the coast of Tokyo. Koichi, a deserter traumatised by his first confrontation with Godzilla, sees this as an opportunity to redeem his conduct during the war.
Produced by Minami Ichikawa, Shūji Abe, Kenji Yamada, Kazuaki Kishida, Gō Abe, and Keiichirō Moriya, ‘Godzilla Minus One’ is a collaboration between production companies Toho Studios and Robot Communications. It is distributed by Toho.
