Patrick J. Adams aired his thoughts on the "bots" talking about his former "Suits" on-screen partner Meghan Markle and mentioning him in their discussions.
Adams worked with Markle for a couple of years in their hit legal drama TV series. On Wednesday, he took to Twitter to address those who continue to debate about the Duchess of Sussex by giving them unsolicited advice.
"Hello to the people and many bots debating all things Markle and including me in the conversation. I just want you to know a couple of things. 1. I don’t read any of it. 2. Life is short. 3. There has to [sic] got to be better things for you to be doing. Even you, bots," he tweeted, adding the hashtag "#botbetter."
His post on Twitter received mixed responses, with some asking how he would know about what the bots were talking about if he hadn't read their posts or conversations. Some also thanked him for his continued support for Markle.
"A bit confused here...if you don't read any of it, how did you come to write this post? Life is short...maybe don't spend it writing about things you don't read," one asked.
"Everyone needs friends like this! Meghan has some of the best," another added.
"Thank you Patrick for standing up against bullying allegations towards Meghan, Duchess of Sussex in March 2021! You are a great man. God bless you and Family!" a third user wrote.
It's not the first time Adams spoke in favor of Markle. In 2018, he also slammed Paul Nehlen over his racist post about the duchess, which the latter already deleted. The politician shared a picture of a Cheddar Man superimposed on Markle's face.
"Oh, @pnehlen — you're a sad and sick man with no sense of shame or class. Get a life," Adams tweeted. "And don't go anywhere near MM - she's got more power, strength, honor and compassion in her fingernail than you'll ever know in this lifetime. Way above your weight class."
He also criticized the royal family for allegedly amplifying the bullying allegations against Prince Harry's wife ahead of the couple's interview with Oprah Winfrey last year. According to him, Markle "has always been a powerful woman with a deep sense of morality and fierce work ethic."
He added that the duchess was not afraid to speak up, be heard and defend herself and those people dear to her if necessary. In contrast to the allegations that Markle was a bully, he found her "enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supportive."
