No Rest for the Wicked 32:9 (Super Ultrawide) Support: Is it available

No Rest for the Wicked is the latest title from Moon Studios, the developers behind the popular Ori series. Released as an early access title on 18 April 2024, No Rest for the Wicked is an action RPG where you will be battling against devious creatures, exploring a captivating world, and doing your best to survive. All in all, No Rest for the Wicked is certainly looking to be more ambitious than the previous two titles from the studios. Now, with the recent early access release of the game, there’s a lot about it that players want to know. A major one happens to be whether No Rest for the Wicked supports super ultrawide (32:9) aspect ratio screens.

Over the past few years, Super Ultrawide has started to gain more traction in the video gaming world. As such, there’s always a question about super ultrawide support whenever a new game releases or is announced by developers. And that’s the same case with No Rest for the Wicked too. The game’s visuals are quite gorgeous and many prefer enjoying it on their 32:9 monitors. So, does the game support super ultrawide? Well, continue reading to find out.

At the time of publishing this, No Rest for the Wicked doesn’t have support for 32:9. So far, it only supports up to 21:9. Quite an unfortunate piece of information to hear, as many players were looking forward to enjoying the game on their 32:9 devices. Currently, the game only supports six aspect ratios:

  • 16:9

  • 16:10

  • 21:9

  • 64:27

  • 43:18

  • 12:5

As you can see, there’s no 32:9 aspect ratio in that list. However, the developers have acknowledged the super-ultrawide support demand, so they might be releasing support for it as well. In the meantime, does that mean there’s no way to play No Rest for the Wicked in 32:9? Well, there is a way. Two, to be specific. And we have explained both of them here in this guide.

First workaround

From what we have found so far, this particular workaround only seems to work for Samsung G9 monitors. So, if you happen to be using a G9 monitor, make sure to use this workaround. So, as shared here, basically, what you need to do is open your monitor’s settings and then switch to the PIP/PBP tab. The very first option for the PIP/PBP section will be PIP/PBP Mode. Simply enable it and then disable it. You will now be able to play No Rest for the Wicked in a 32:9 aspect ratio.

Second workaround

Those who don’t have a G9 monitor can use this workaround. However, do know that you will have to spend $4 or so. If you are willing to do that, then go ahead with this workaround. You can start by heading over to this link and purchasing Borderless Gaming from Steam. Once that’s done, install it. Next, launch No Rest for the Wicked, navigate to in-game settings, and then set the aspect ratio to 16:9 and switch to Windowed Mode. After that, open Borderless Gaming, select No Rest for the Wicked and click on Extend. This will now allow you to enjoy No Rest for the Wicked in the 32:9 aspect ratio.

Well, now you know whether No Rest for the Wicked supports the super-ultrawide aspect ratio.
