Do Philadelphia Eagles fans even remember how to boo these days?
The notoriously sour fanbase first showered a standing ovation on former head coach Doug Pederson in his first game against the franchise he led to its only Super Bowl win. Then they had plenty to cheer for as the Eagles rallied from a 14-point, first-quarter deficit to beat the upstart Jaguars and remain the NFL’s only undefeated team.
So, there’s not much question which team deserves to be No. 1 in The Post’s power rankings for Week 5. But you’ll find a lot of surprises in the bottom half of the rankings if you are just watching the uniforms and not the play of a few annual playoff contenders who are just not good enough to be in the conversation right now.
1. Philadelphia Eagles 4-0 (2)
Head coach Nick Sirianni wanted to face more adversity. He got it. The response? The Eagles are the seventh team since 1970 to start 4-0 and have at least 400 yards of total offense in all four games. A little more history: They are the first team since 1995 with at least 10 rushing touchdowns in their first four games.

In danger of a second straight loss, the Bills overcame a 17-point deficit and beat the Ravens, 23-20, on a walk-off field goal for their biggest comeback win since erasing a 21-point deficit to win in 2011. The Bills’ last 20 regular-season victories had been by double figures, matching a streak by the Bears set in the 1940s.
3. Kansas City Chiefs 3-1 (5)
Out for a small taste of revenge from Super Bowl LV, Patrick Mahomes wasn’t running for his life against the Buccaneers defense this time around. When Mahomes was on the move, he made incredible improvisational touchdown throws, such as the 2-yard floater to Clyde Edwards-Helaire during the building of an 18-point, first-half lead in a 41-31 win against the Bucs.
4. Minnesota Vikings 3-1 (6)
Double doink! The Vikings scored first and last in a back-and-forth fourth quarter and survived the Saints’ missed 60-yard field goal that bounced off both the upright and crossbar on the final play of a 28-25 win. Greg Joseph was 5-for-5 on field goals (missed PAT) and Justin Jefferson broke out with 10 catches for 147 yards and a rushing touchdown.
5. Green Bay Packers 3-1 (7)
These Packers aren’t scaring anyone. But they have won three straight. Aaron Jones paced a rushing attack that totaled 199 yards and bought time for Aaron Rodgers to settle in after a horrid start. A 12-play, 75-yard drive chewed up nearly seven minutes in overtime and set up the game-winning field goal in a 27-24 win against the Patriots.
6. Miami Dolphins 3-1 (1)
Another NFL investigation of the Dolphins, who already were penalized in August for owner Stephen Ross tampering with Tom Brady before free agency and suggesting to former head coach Brian Flores to tank. Now, it’s the handling of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s potentially rushed return through the concussion protocol. Teddy Bridgewater played most of the 27-15 loss to the Bengals.
7. Los Angeles Rams 2-2 (4)
Another costly pick-six thrown by Matthew Stafford — who led the NFL in interceptions last season before his great playoff run — sealed a 24-9 loss to the 49ers. The Rams allowed seven sacks. Any chance Andrew Whitworth wants to unretire from the Amazon pregame broadcast to play left tackle again? Bobby Wagner’s tackle on a trespassing fan was wild.
8. Dallas Cowboys 3-1 (10)
Cooper Rush, Dak Prescott’s injury replacement, improved to 4-0 in his career (3-0 this season) as a starter. CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup (in his season debut) caught touchdown passes in a 25-10 win over the Commanders. The Cowboys have held their first four opponents to 19 points or fewer for the first time since 1973.

The NFL’s No. 2-ranked rushing defense (79.3 yards per game after three weeks) got whipped by the Chiefs’ offensive line on the way to 189 ground yards. The Bucs, who rushed for three yards, have started slow all season, and it caught up to them. Mike Evans has 30 touchdown catches in 35 career regular-season games with Tom Brady.
10. San Francisco 49ers 2-2 (16)
It’s unbelievable that the 49ers now have won seven straight regular-season games against the Rams but blew a fourth-quarter lead in the one that mattered most, last season’s NFC Championship Game. The 49ers used dominant defense and two long strikes — a 57-yard catch-and-run by Deebo Samuel and a 32-yard rush by Jeff Wilson.

14. New York Giants 3-1 (14)
Saquon Barkley looks better than ever, leading the NFL in yards from scrimmage and taking charge of a one-dimensional offense. The defense totaled six sacks and two takeaways and didn’t allow a touchdown to the Bears in a 20-12 victory. But quarterbacks Daniel Jones (ankle) and Tyrod Taylor (concussion) are injured and uncertain for this week’s trip to London.

In the fourth quarter of his season debut, Zach Wilson completed 10-of-12 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown (138.9 quarterback rating) in a 24-20 comeback win against the Steelers. Wilson caught a touchdown pass and handed off to rookie Breece Hall on the winning score. One problem in need of immediate attention: Offensive tackle is a mess.
