Yankees give Aaron Judge a raise for 2021

The Yankees and Aaron Judge have agreed on a one-year, $10.175-million contract for 2021, according to an industry source.

Judge, 28, slashed .257/.336/.554 in 28 regular-season games for the 2020 Yankees, hitting nine home runs, as he served two injured-list stints with a right calf injury. He added a .133/.229/.433 line in seven postseason games.

The 2017 American League Rookie of the Year was set to earn $8.5 million last year; he actually received about $3.1 million due to the majority of the schedule being wiped out by the novel coronavirus. Judge is under team control for two more seasons before he can become a free agent in the 2022-23 winter.
