WWE 2K24 Audio/Sound Not Working Issue on PC: How to fix it

WWE 2K24 is the latest entry into the WWE 2K series and fans seem to be quite happy with it. Boasting an incredible roster along with new match types, WWE 2K24 is certainly a worthwhile improvement from last year’s WWE 2K23. However, like any other WWE 2K release, this one too suffers from a myriad of issues. And this guide here will help you deal with the audio/sound not working issue.

Well, this is a pretty common issue that has affected past WWE 2K titles too. And since it’s so common, there are a number of workarounds that you can use to resolve this issue. So, without further ado, let’s go ahead and take a look at these workarounds.

Since there’s no official fix for this at the moment, players will have to make do with the following workarounds. So, try these and see if any of them are of help.

Select the correct Audio device –

Players should make sure that the correct audio device is selected under the Speaker option. What you need to do is click Windows + G and click on the Speaker icon. Next, click on the drop-down menu under Windows Default Output, and select the audio device you want to use.

Open Sound Settings –

Type in Sound Settings in the search bar and open it. Check that the correct audio device is selected for both Input and Output options. You can also scroll down, click on Volume Mixer, and ensure that the volume for WWE 2K24 is set to Max.

Change Sound Sample Rate –

Changing the sound sample rate is also something you can try to deal with this issue. To do that, follow the instructions mentioned below:

  • Open the Control Panel and navigate to Hardware and Sound > Sound.

  • When the Sound window opens, right-click on the audio device that you are using and select Properties.

  • Switch to the Advanced tab and select 24-bit, 48000 Hz, or 24-bit, 44100 Hz from the drop-down menu. Additionally, we also recommend unchecking the Allow hardware acceleration of audio with this device option.

  • End the process by clicking on Apply and OK.

Turn off Spatial Sound –

For some, turning off Spatial Sound was what helped them fix this issue so we recommend giving it a try. Basically, what you need to do is follow the previous method’s steps until the Properties window opens. After that, switch to the Spatial Sound tab and select Off from the drop-down menu. Click on Apply and OK to end the process. Additionally, if you happen to be playing with a controller, make sure to disconnect it and reconnect it once the sound comes back.

Disable Oculus/Voicemeter –

Players can try disabling the Oculus/Voiecemeter Audio Device and see if that works. For this, what you should do is open the Sound Control Panel and disable all other audio devices except for the one you are using. Also, open Device Manager, find and expand Sound, video, and game controllers, and make sure only the audio device you are using is enabled. While you are at it, right-click on your audio device and select Update Drivers. If there’s an update, download it and install it.

Uncheck Handsfree Telephony –

Unchecking Handsfree Telephony is also something that might help you resolve this issue. All you need to do is open the Run dialog box and copy-paste this command: “shell:::{A8A91A66-3A7D-4424-8D24-04E180695C7A}”. After that, right-click on the audio device in use, select Properties > Services, and uncheck Handsfree Telephony. End the process by clicking on Apply and OK. Additionally, we also recommend disconnecting any external microphone that you happen to be using.

Make sure Creator Safe Mode is turned off –

Having Streamer Mode enabled will mute all music, so make sure that it’s turned off. Just switch to Options and then select Audio Volume. In the next window, you will find five options, including the Creator Safe Mode. Change it to off and save your changes.
