Train Sim World 4 Roadmap for February 2024 & beyond

Developer Dovetail Games continues to add new content for the latest entry in the Train Sim World series, Train Sim World 4. Just recently, players got the Edinburgh-Glasgow: Engineering Express Pack on January 23, 2024, which added in a ton of content, including new liveries, the Class 385 rail, and more. Fans are having fun with it but many have already started to wonder what Dovetail has in store for this month and beyond.

Dovetail is known for constantly developing and releasing a stupid amount of DLCs for their games. So much so that the studio’s most popular game, Train Simulator Classic, has over a whopping 700+ DLCs. Train Sim World 4 itself is nearing 100 DLCs, with the current DLC count sitting at 94. Suffice it to say, there’s still room for far more content updates. So, what does Dovetail have for Train Sim World 4 in February and the following months? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.

There’s a ton of new content arriving for Train Sim World 4 and it’s all just so exciting. Developer Dovetail did a Dovetail Direct a few days ago on February 11, 2024, which focused on games like CATAN: Console Edition, Train Simulator Classic, City Transport Sim: Trams, and of course Train Sim World 4. The current roadmap for the game is divided into three parts and as such, we will be focusing on them accordingly.

The first 0–3 months, or January to March, are divided into three parts: – Core, Add-Ons, and Partner Releases. Under Core, there’s the Winter Core Update (Part 2), the usual Quality-of-Life improvements, core and route add-on fixes, and an open beta for Formation Designer on both Steam and Epic Games. And in case you didn’t know, all of these have already been released. Moving on, the game will be getting three add-ons.
