Street Fighter 6 Custom Rooms Not Working Issue: Is there any fix yet

2023 is a great year to be a fighting game fan. Bandai Namco is rumored to be conducting a beta test for Tekken 8 sometime in June, and NetherRealm Studios has already stated that Mortal Kombat 1 will be released sometime in September 2023. Furthermore, Capcom has already launched Street Fighter 6 for the PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows platforms. Made available on June 2nd, the game has been receiving rave reviews for its excellent roster and versatile combat. But, as always, no game is completely free from bugs and issues. Street Fighter 6 is the same too. As such, recently, players have been complaining about the “Custom Rooms Not Working” issue in the game.

No game has ever been released completely bug-free. No matter how hard both the devs and the QA team try, there will always be one or two issues with a game. Nintendo’s 2023 chef-d’oeuvre The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was a technical marvel, but even it had certain bugs and issues. Capcom has done an amazing job optimizing Street Fighter 6, but it too is riddled with certain critical issues. The “Custom Room Not Working” issue is one of the major ones. So, is there any fix yet for the problem? Did Capcom even acknowledge this issue? Let’s find out!

Capcom is already aware of this issue and has acknowledged it officially. Furthermore, they did release several tweets stating that the issue was fixed. But unfortunately, some players are still having the same problem. As such, here are some workarounds that might help you fix this issue.

Restart the game –

Let’s start with the obvious workaround. Although not fully guaranteed, restarting can still fix trivial issues at times. Try this with the game before you move on to other fixes. Who knows! A simple restart might be all you need to fix this issue.

Verify file integrity –

Missing files could also be the cause of this issue. Fortunately, Steam offers a handy feature that can help you in that matter. Just open Steam > Library > Street Fighter 6. Right-click on the game and select Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files. After the scan is completed, launch the game and check if you can create custom rooms now.

Update the game –

Since Street Fighter 6 is a fresh release, developers are constantly releasing new updates and patches for it. Most of it is to deal with bugs and fix ongoing issues. As such, we recommend that you download the latest available update for the game as soon as possible.

Redownload the game –

Follow this method if the above workarounds fail. Do note that you will be essentially downloading the whole game from the start, so make sure you have a good enough connection.

Wait for a while –

It is a known fact that SF 6 is a recent release, and due to the overwhelming number of players diving into the game servers, it is quite obvious that the servers aren’t able to handle the load. So, if you are unable to create custom rooms in the game, wait a while before trying again.

Contact Support –

If none of the above-mentioned workarounds yield any results, all there’s left to do is contact Capcom Support. Send a support ticket to them and convey your problems. They might get back to you with additional workarounds and updates regarding the issue.
